The rough cedar-covered region of Southwestern New Mexico is perhaps one of the best areas in the West to hunt a trophy bull elk.  Bulls in this country grow big and the record books back that up.  Each season sees a new crop of exceptional trophies harvested from this area.

Hunt area 15, better known as the Gila, is one area in particular that consistently produces the kind on trophy bulls that every hunter dreams of.  This is an early-October muzzle loader hunt during the rut, with bulls commonly taken in the 350+ point range.
